WHO WE ARE
We’re Sally & Sam, owners of Take The Lead and we’re so happy you’ve found yourself reading this! Husband & wife team, and parents to our four lovely fur babies, with a passion for animals and the natural world… it really is hard to believe we get to call this our job!
Dexter, our Boston Terrier was first to our family and along with Sally’s parents dog, Ollie, they were the driving force of Take The Lead. After working long hours in childcare & wishing there were more hours in the day to enjoy with her dogs, Sally set the business up in 2015 and has loved every minute since! By September 2017, Sally was busy enough to need help – which is when her husband, Sam, left his office job to join the wonderful world of Take The Lead. Like Sally, Sam has loved every minute of the adventure and can’t wait to see where it takes us!
WHAT WE OFFER
At Take The Lead we understand how busy life can be, and with that we pride ourselves on our flexibility allowing us to provide a tailored pet care service. This means we offer walks and home visits as early or late as you need, along with taking last minute bookings and catering for clients who may need walks or visits every now and again.
PACK WALKS
The importance of routine exercise & mental stimulation alongside learning social skills is paramount to a dog’s happiness, which is exactly what our pack walks provide! Given the flexibility we offer, the size of our group walks can vary dependent upon the dogs we are walking and the land we are walking on. Our walks are planned with our dogs personalities & needs in mind, so they can enjoy themselves as much as possible during their time with us; whether we are exploring the woods, having a paddle in the river or strolling on the field – we aim to have as much fun as possible in a safe environment that suits your dog. Our pack sizes tend to vary between 3 – 6 dogs and are always in line with our insurance policy & local laws. Whether we walk together or separately also varies walk to walk, as we aim to work in a way that ensures we can accommodate the individual needs of our clients and furry friends.

Second dog from the same house is charged at 50%

HOME VISITS
Our home visits are there to make being a pet owner as easy as possible; visit times & length can be tailored, and our time with your pet can be spent providing whatever care you require. From puppy feeds to garden breaks for elderly dogs, administering medication, feeding chickens or cleaning out your aviary, feeding reptiles live food or visiting your cats in the comfort of their own home whilst you’re on holiday – we are here and happy to help!
